This module introduces you to a number of significant critical frameworks which shape our understanding of culture, politics and society. It is designed to encourage you to think about – and apply theoretical positions to – the related fields of drama, theatre and performance.

- Locate critical theories in their historical and cultural contexts
- Explore relationships between theatre practice and contemporary critical debates.

- Produce critical work informed by your own curiosities in a range of forms across theatre and performance.
- Convey your own critical voice with confidence and clarity in forms appropriate for academic, creative or professional audiences.
