Posters in Parliament

Posters in Parliament (PiP) brings together some of the UK’s best undergraduate researchers in the historic setting of Westminster Palace.

The event is organised by the British Conference of Undergraduate Research, a group of universities committed to furthering undergraduate research in the UK, and takes the form of an exhibition. The prestigious location means that legislators and policy makers can meet some of the UK’s top undergraduate researchers.

Each university can nominate two students to represent them at PiP. Sussex’s nominated students are drawn from our JRA scheme: the creators of our top two undergraduate research posters, as selected by a panel of academics, will represent Sussex at Westminster.

There are clear benefits for the students presenting at PiP: a great addition to their CV; the opportunity to share research and ideas with those from other universities across the UK; and the opportunity to discuss their projects with influential individuals in their field.

Sussex at Posters in Parliament

The table below lists all of the JRAs who have represented Sussex in parliament in previous years, since 2014, barring the hiatus caused by the Covid pandemic. One of the very first students we took from Sussex, Talitha Bromwich, was declared the overall winner for 2014.
